Due to us not being able to run the Gardening Club this year the parents who usually run the club kindly offered to attend the school grounds and attend to the pots and garden areas and put up the bee and insect houses, bird table and scatter some seeds which were all given to school via the biodiversity grant that a parent kindly applied for for us.
They have made a fantastic start on all of this and have also kindly been given £30 by The Friends towards compost etc for all the planters.
I contacted Roden Garden Centre and they have very generously donated us a trolley of beautiful flowers and plants which I collected yesterday, for the school grounds – which will be planted this week and will certainly brighten everywhere up.
Thank you to all involved in getting the school looking bright and creating an insect and bird friendly environment.
